My name is Gonzalo Preciado.
I´m a professional ballet dancer currently living and working at The Latvian National Ballet in Riga, as
you can see by my name, I´m Spanish, I was born in Zaragoza (Spain) where I
started my ballet training until I decided to move to London to study at the
English National Ballet School, where I graduated 2 years ago, then I came back
to Spain to complete my training until last season when I moved to Latvia to
join the company.
Now that I have just
started my 2nd season with the company I decided to continue my studies,
enrolling the BA
Honours Degree in Professional Practice in Arts (Part time) at the Middlesex University in London, so this blog
has been created due to this course.
As well as being a
ballet dancer, my other passion is writing, and since 2014 I have the
opportunity to write for the dance magazine, Danza en Escena in Spain. Also I have been always interested in a
wider knowledge, especially the relationship between Art and Science, and for
my dissertation at my final year at English
National Ballet School, I explored that, studying and analysing the work of
the British choreographer Wayne McGregor.
Therefore this BAPP
Course at Middlesex is perfect for me so I can expand my knowledge in this
field, as well as many others. It will be a fascinating process and I hope you
enjoy it too with me through this blog!
