My first task of the
Module 1 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University
is to rewrite my current CV into a profile.
Throughout the years,
even before I joined the English National Ballet School in 2011, I have been
writing and updating my Professional CV, due to it is essential, not only for
your public image (Finding a job, what the media & your followers can see
about you…) but also for yourself, because when you look at your CV, you can
see what you have achieved and what you haven´t yet, you can make a balance
about it, therefore you can set goals for the future, so a CV, in my opinion is
key in order to progress in your professional life and as a person.
This task for me was
really interesting because, you have to take your current CV and highlight the
most important things that you have achieved, and then write your Profile using
those highlights in a way that is easy and interesting for the reader to see
what is important about you. In my case I have my CV & Profile in several
social media, that I update every one or two months depending on the amount of
work that I have, (Here you can see one example of my CV in my profile at the dance
social network, Network Dance: http://www.networkdance.com/Gonzalo-Preciado-Azanza/#CV)
And then this the
result of the rewriting into a Profile:
“Gonzalo Preciado Azanza: Born in 1994
in Zaragoza, Spain. He began his ballet training at the age of 7 years, a year
later; he was accepted into the Conservatorio Municipal Profesional de Danza de
Zaragoza. In 2011 he was accepted into the prestigious English National Ballet
School of London where he has the opportunity to dance several solo roles in
ballets such as Raymonda or Giselle, as well as dancing pieces by renowned
choreographers such as Sir Kenneth Macmillan or Kerry Nicholls. In 2012 he
participated at the Bartholin International Ballet Seminar in Copenhagen
(Denmark). He graduated in 2014, obtaining the Level 6 in Professional Dance by
the Trinity College London.
He completed his training at the Estudio
de Danza de Maria de Avila in Zaragoza until 2015 when he made history by
becoming the first Spanish dancer to join the prestigious Latvian National
Ballet. Since then he has danced all the classical ballets such as Swan Lake,
Giselle or Don Quixote, as well as neoclassical and contemporary pieces by
world renowned choreographers like Boris Eiffman, Krzysztof Pastor, Attila
Egerhazi or Edward Clug. Last November He made his debut as soloist with the
company in the production of Bolero… Last April the renowned choreographer Leo
Mujic created the role of the Caliph de Baghdad on him, at the recent world
premiere of Scherezade and her tales.
He has danced in several countries such
as United Kingdom, Italy, Spain or Latvia. Previously, he participated in
productions with other companies including the unfortunately extinct Ballet of
Zaragoza, LaMov Cia de Danza and the renowned English National Ballet, as well
as participating in various galas like the Gran Concierto de Año Nuevo 2015 in
Zaragoza or the Season Opening Concert 2015 en Riga.
Since April he has been involved in his
first Solo Tour, The Reborn Tour 2016 participating in several galas and
festivals in Logroño, Zaragoza & Huesca in Spain and Riga & Jurmala in
Latvia, as well as other associated events related to them.
His awards & grants include the
Dance and Drama Award (DaDa) by the Government of the UK and the Beca de
Ampliación de Estudios Artísticos de la Diputación de Zaragoza in 2012. As a
writer he is a collaborator at the dance magazine: Danzaenescena, since 2014”
I hope
you liked the result, you can comment and tell me what you thought about it, as
well as to give some suggestions to improve it, because a CV & Profile is
an on-going process that you always need to change as your life evolves!
Gonzalo
You've done a very good job for Task 1a in my opinion, nicely done in third person and well written. Perhaps you could add a part of how to get in contact as this is also an important factor of a CV but obviously miss out the details. Good job! Abby x
ResponderEliminarThank you very much for your advice Abby, it is really helpful, I will add that at next update of my CV this month!
