The task 5a of the Module 2 of the BA (Hons) in
Professional Practice at the Middlesex University consists of taking my place
of work/ professional community that is familiar to me, consider the ethics
that might apply there. What are the codes of practice/regulations which guide
the setting? We need to do this without reference to documents or discussion.
Only relying on my own thoughts.
Firstly, as a dancer of The Latvian National Ballet,
it comes to my mind some ethics that you need to take into account applying the
codes of practice and regulations required in the Dance World:
- It is essential to
have health and safety in the rehearsal & performance environment
- You need to respect
to all of the people around you, not only the dancers but also coaches,
choreographers, rehearsal pianists and other members of the staff
- If you are a ballet
teacher and you are working with children, parents consent is needed
- You need to have an appropriate
personal presentation at all times in your environment (including rehearsals)
- You have to be aware
of those around you (especially in the rehearsal & performance environment
to avoid the risk of an injury)
- You are responsible
for your own fitness (Managing your warming-up and cooling-down to prevent as
many injuries as possible)

Also, at
the moment because of these BAPP Course, as well as the Inquiry Research that
I´m doing at the Middlesex University, there are also a few ethical points that I need to take into account
applying the codes of practice and regulations required in the Academic World
such as:
-
Plagiarism is completely forbidden, your work has to be yours and your
resources and citations have to be accurate
- You
will permission from the participants you are using in your piece of work,
prior using them.
-
Your data must to be protected at all time, especially the information related
about other people (Like an interview)
-
You need to be objective when you are being researcher, not to be influenced by
other people´s opinion.
In my
opinion, it is key to be ethical, not only to create your Inquiry at the BAPP
Course and succeed on it, but also in all your professional and personal life,
it will make a different between you and the rest of the people, because
unfortunately we are living in a world where people are not always being
ethical within their acts and opinions.

forget to keep following this blog and my Google + Community for the updates
about my research!
