Task 7a Part 9: My Professional Artefact, finishing my Critical Review and Skype Discussions

The task 7a of the Module 3 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University consists of carrying out my professional inquiry.
In this Part 9 of this task I will speak about my professional artefact, how I am finishing my Critical Review and my most recent skype discussions.

My workplace: The Latvian National Opera & Ballet in Riga

Firstly, in terms of my Professional Artefact I decided to create a short film showcasing to my professional practice, the dance field, the research that I have been carrying out in the past months through the first part of my Inquiry: The Critical Review.  I will be narrating it through the language of the dance field (choreography, developing my own creation) as well as speaking. It will be filmed in my work place in Riga at the Latvian National Opera & Ballet (Photo above). The objective of this short film is to bring closer and to make my audience, within my own artistic field, to understand what is the impact of the new technologies on the creative process in the 21st Century Professional Dance. And the structure of it will be divided into seven different scenes

For the past weeks I have been working hard on my Critical Review (Photo above) having almost finished a complete draft to hand it in to Adesola and the end of this week and afterwards use her feedback to complete week by week till the deadline on January.
Also this week, I attended the skype session with my classmates, Eleanor and Hannah and conducted by Adesola where we listen to each other´s inquiry to help us to improve so we can all learn from others and apply into our own works.

Task 7a Part 8: Developing my Critical Review Draft and a World Premiere

The task 7a of the Module 3 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University consists of carrying out my professional inquiry.

In this Part 8 of this task I will speak about how I am developing further my Critical Review. For the past days, I made a huge improvement for my inquiry putting together all my ideas and finishing the draft my Evaluation of the Inquiry Process (Photo Below). After I have finishing this long chapter, I am determined to finish the next one, heading for handing the draft to Adesola at the end of next week.

Meanwhile at the Latvian National Opera & Ballet in Riga, it was a very busy week. Because last Friday we had the world premiere of the ballet Don Juan (Photo below), with choreography by Julio Arozarena and dramaturgy by Valentina Turcu. A fantastic performance to add to our big and diverse repertoire.

Task 7a Part 7: My third interview and recent Skype Discussions

The task 7a of the Module 3 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University consists of carrying out my professional inquiry.

In this Part 7 of this task I will speak about my third interview and the latest skype discussions I had with my Adesola and my BAPP colleagues.
For my third interview, I choose the Director of the International Contemporary Dance Festival Trayectos in my Zaragoza (Spain). This time I have done it online, because I am not able to go out of Riga, because we are about to do the world premiere of the ballet Don Juan by Julio Arozarena and Valentina Turcu at the Latvian National Opera. Therefore, I prepared my questions and I sent it through email and a few weeks later, the director kindly responded me and answer them.

 Answered Questions

Mainly the interview was related with the festival and concretely with the final performance of the recently created Dance and New Media Lab showing the results of its research, that I attended last June in my hometown.

In terms of the Skype Discussion, last week I attended a group session of all modules organised by Adesola, where we analysed different aspects of the course and the work we are all carrying out at the moment, and yesterday with the module 3 students Hannah and Eleanor we organised a chat to discuss and help each other in the process of this module, and how we are all handling it, so we can all head forwards to the end of it in about two months. Both of them were very enriching to answer some of my questions and help me develop further my inquiry.
