The task 7a of the
Module 3 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University
consists of carrying out my professional inquiry.
In this Part 2 of
this task I would speak a bit about the resources of the inquiry, concretely
about the main Literature (You can see the list below) that I have been reading
in the past weeks for my BAPP Inquiry.
The book Art + Science Now by Stephen Wilson
- Dixon, Steve (2004) Digital Performance: A History of New Media in Theater, Dance,
Performance Art, and Installation, Cambridge, MIT Press
- Wilson, Stephen (2010) Art + Science Now: How scientific research and technological
innovation are becoming key to 21st-century aesthetics, New York, Thames & Hudson
- Oikonomou, Nefeli-Niki (2012) Dance Research, Choreography and Cognitive
Science: The encounter with the Creative Process-Analysis and Proposals for
support of the Creative Choreographic Process in Dance, Syros
- Tornero Lorenzo, Paz (2013) Tecnologías
de la Creatividad: Conexiones entre Arte y Ciencia en la Contemporaneidad,
Madrid
Firstly, during my
summer break I studied the book Art
+ Science Now by Stephen Wilson before starting the Module 3
where I learnt a lot about the different aspects of the Art and Science
relationship through several examples and professional artefacts from all the
scientific fields. A few days ago I finished the Dissertation Dance Research, Choreography and Cognitive
Science by Nefeli-Niki Oikonomou. It took me almost 3 weeks to read and process all
the data that I found because it shows a wide range of knowlegde of how
different technological aspects have been approached by several choreographers
and what has been the result of it. It has been an exhaustive process where
after reading and analysing them I selected and wrote what I found interesting
for my inquiry in my BAPP Resources Quotes Notebook (Photo below).

Yesterday also, I
attended the Skype Discussion Group with Adesola at 5pm (London Time), where we
practiced Critical Thinking discussing and analysing several issues. For me it
was especially interesting to listen the opinion of the others about how it
feels to be an international artist in other countries as I have experienced it
throughout all my career.
Don´t forget to
keep following the blog and my Google + Community for the updates about my
research!
