The task 7a of the
Module 3 of the BA (Hons) in Professional Practice at the Middlesex University
consists of carrying out my professional inquiry.
RIXC Art Science Festival Conference Abstracts & Accreditation
In this Part 5 of
this task I will speak about the RIXC Art Science
Festival 2017: VIRTUALITIES AND REALITIES, that I have been attending this weekend in Riga (Latvia).
Firstly, last Thursday on the opening day of the Conference, I
registered myself so they could give me my accreditation as well as all the
information about the festival, including the Conference Abstracts (Photo
above) where you can read all the information about the works that are going to
be presented.
RIXC Art Science Festival Conference Room at The Art Academy of Latvia
This event took place
during three days at the Art Academy of Latvia (Photo above) and the National
Art Museum from Thursday to Saturday where 80 presentations “about the complex
implications of augmented and virtual reality. Immersive technologies coupled
with virtual environments, artificial intelligence algorithms, faster
processors, and biometrics are launching a new era in virtual experiences”
(RIXC, 2017) where showcased in order to discuss and create artistic conversations
around these topics, distributed through plenary and parallel sessions.
My notes taken at the RIXC Art Science Festival
In my case I managed to attend around a quarter of all
of it due to I had to combine with my rehearsals and performances with the
Latvian National Ballet. It was an inspiring and thoughtful
weekend where I was able to take several pages of notes (Photo Above) that I
will be using later for my Inquiry. Also, it helped me to understand the way of
presenting a scientific work in order to apply for my Oral Presentation in
January.
